Rachel Winter

Rachel Winter was raised in Gilroy, California. Following several years of training in rhythmic gymnastics she began dancing under the instruction of April Carr and Jyovonne Montosa at the age of ten years old. In 2012 Rachel chose to continue her ballet education with the team currently running The New Ballet School. Since then, she has successfully completed and passed four American Ballet Theatre National Training Curriculum examinations (levels 4A, 5A, 5B, and 6). Besides those of Ballet San Jose School, Silicon Valley Ballet School, and The New Ballet School, Rachel has attended summer intensives at the San Francisco Ballet School and the Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington D.C. She has been involved in numerous performances including The Nutcracker and Cinderella, as well as excerpts and variations from La Bayadere, Don Quixote, Swan Lake, Raymonda, Coppelia and Le Corsaire. Rachel has created roles in new works choreographed by Dalia Rawson, Mads Eriksen, and Alexsandra Meijer. She has participated in outreach events and performances in the San Jose area in order to promote the cultural importance of the arts. Rachel looks forward to continuing her ballet training and expanding her repertoire as a member of The New Ballet Studio Company during the 2016-2017 season.
