Competition Program
New Ballet School’s competition program is led by School Director Linh Mai Le. Mr. Le is a world renowned ballet coach with decades of experience in ballet competition. He has led students to win multiple international awards, including the Grand Prix at YAGP semi-finals and multiple medals in YAGP finals. The competition program is by invitation only. Students levels 4A and up may reach out to Laura Burton at lburton@newballet.com if they are interested in consideration for participation. Additional coaches and choreographers may include Laura Burton, Naomi Le, Sorcha Tate and Dalia Rawson. Thank you to Amy Seiwert for allowing Yuzuka Fuchnoue to compete with her choreography in 2022.

Our Competition Philosophy
We believe that the process of preparing for a dance competition far outweighs the accolades that come with winning. We focus on growth, performance, teamwork, and individual achievement. We are proud of all of our participants, even more so for the support and camaraderie built throughout the competition process than for awards won. We ask our families to remember that competition is subjective, and that ballet, as an art form, may not always be judged in the same way by different viewers, judges, audiences or directors. Students who compete do so with their focus on the process of preparing for the performance opportunity provided, and with an eye on learning by performing in a unique and competitive environment.
