Cinderella

Humor, magic, and a gallant prince make Cinderella the classical story ballet your whole family will love.

As if stepping between the pages of a treasured storybook, New Ballet’s Cinderella vividly delights audiences with the majesty of classical ballet, wrapped in the promise of “happily ever after,” and generously sprinkled with sparkling humor. Complete with a Fairy Godmother, a handsome prince and an unforgettable ball, Dalia Rawson’s staging, Prokofiev’s beloved score and stunning costumes and scenery make this production a delight for the whole family.

San Jose’s favorite holiday ballet!

The San Jose Nutcracker is a classical holiday ballet unique to our home town. Presented in partnership with History San Jose, it tells the well-loved story of Clara and the Nutcracker, while featuring historical references to the heritage that has made Santa Clara Valley the center of innovation it is today. The New Ballet Orchestra, a professional orchestra led by New Ballet Conductor Thomas Shoebotham accompanies performances of The San Jose Nutcracker.

My Very First Nutcracker

My Very First Nutcracker is a special one hour classical ballet presentation of The San Jose Nutcracker suitable for our youngest audiences, including children and toddlers of all ages.

My Very First Nutcracker features the first act of The San Jose Nutcracker, including a festive holiday party hosted by young Clara, her brother Fritz, and their family in San Jose at the turn of the last century. Meet fascinating Uncle Nikola and his electric gifts, including electric lighting for the home, an arc lamp, and a large electric coil that rivals the power of lightning itself. Marvel at a replica of the historic San Jose Light Tower which magically grows to rise above the streets of San Jose. Cheer on adorable mice and toy soldiers who compete to win a magic crown. Be enchanted by a winter wonderland presided over by the Queen of Snow. Introduce your family to the magic of classical ballet!

Featuring The New Ballet Company and students from The New Ballet School, The San Jose Nutcracker will feature a recording of the traditional score by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
